Timeless Mucha, Mucha to Manga—The Magic of Lines
This exhibition will showcase works of Alphonse Mucha (1860 – 1939), the archetypal Art Nouveau designer, as well as graphic designs and manga designs from other artists, with about 300 works on display in total. It will feature Mucha’s portraits and other works and give an insight into the technical features of his style, known as “Le Style Mucha,” and historical background. In the latter half of the event, in addition to the works of Mucha, the creations of graphic artists and designers in Japan, the UK and the USA who were inspired by Mucha’s style will also be presented.
